I attended Black Hills State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. After completing college, I worked extensively in the criminal justice system including; the SD State Penitentiary, Minnehaha County Sheriffs Office and as a Court Services Officer over a period of twenty years. I began with Dakota Counseling Institute as a Home Based Clinician in 2007, and obtained my Masters of Science in Human Services 2012. I have a strong interest and am certified in in Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Reality Therapy is also a strong interest of mine. I also use Play Therapy and Art Therapy techniques with young children. When working with families I use a Filial Technique along with Family Systems Therapy. I have been certified in the Duluth Model for Creating a Process of Change for Men Who Batter.
